Find New Life in Spring Sports

“There comes a time when the Spring asks you what you did this Winter.”

This upcoming sports season we have a choice to make. This choice is deciding what team to go out for. You can choose baseball, softball, track, or dance. For those of you who have not decided, consider track as one of your options. The ACC track team is perfect for anyone who is not sure what they want to do. If you don’t like to run there are always field events to take into consideration. Track is an excellent choice for anyone interested in getting in shape and making new friends. Plus it never hurts to try something new. Winter training has already taken off with some eager Chargers running through the snow every Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 after school. If you are thinking about trying track feel free to show up with your running shoes and warm clothes! If that’s not enough to convince you here is what some well known track athletes have to say about this year’s track season.

“It should be a great season.” says junior high jumper and hurdler Anthony Kelley. “We have a lot of returning athletes with a lot of experience. Overall it’s going to be exciting to see what the team can do after last year’s sectional title for both sides of the program.” Junior Max Gilbert, leading long distance runner for the boy’s side of the program, goes on to say, “We have some good young recruits this year for the track team; with the new incoming athletes we should have a very good team this year.” Although we are double A instead of single A for the first time in ACC history I expect it to be a great overall experience for everyone, and be sure to give track a try this year. There is no better time than now!
