Not Quite Copycat

With the construction of the new campus in 1995, Aurora Central Catholic found a beautiful home on the west side.  Although the new location boasts of some features that were only dreams while occupying Root Street (i.e. a full-size gym, on-campus football field, “cafetorium,” etc.), there are a few things that we left on the other side of town.  Here is a quick list of things that just aren’t the same:

  • Neighboring Civil War cemetery, perfect for impromptu football games after school or staging pranks
  • Basement tunnel, perfect for getting from one side of school or stage to the other, especially during musicals
  • Attached convent
  • Old stone fence in ruins
  • Vintage chandeliers setting each stairwell aglow
  • Two extra stories of classrooms!
  • Outdoor courtyard
  • Senior Lounge attached to the gym
