An Arduous Task

 An Arduous Task

Wrestling is the most intense sport on the planet. The physical boundaries one must withstand and sustain will be pushed to its limits in order to achieve a satisfactory gain. The moment you’re out there on the mat, all your energy flusters up inside to a point that you did not know was there before. It explodes, like Pandora’s Box; it is irreversible. Now it is just you and the other animal in the cage, a fight for survival. The task at hand is a relentless goal to be achieved on an immense scale. Will it be you to prevail in the face-to-face battle or be defeated by your adversary? Be striped of your hard work, your time, your moment? Trials and tests ultimately reveal knowledge and understanding of one’s self in order to pass his most arduous task. Coaches are an extremely vital component in achieving your highest potential. Communication and psychological deployment tactics of the coaches help you realize and think about what it is you are leading into. They are constantly striving to get you to never stop and always to improve is the purpose all the time. Wrestlers must quickly learn how to make themselves tougher, more tolerable, and to work. The coaches are there to push, but it is up to the wrestler, who is in control of the decision, to increase his performance, to achieve higher potential despite all of the pain. It seemed as if all of the hard work and time had been more than an investment. It is a way of putting it in the wrestler’s head that work gets you places, but sitting on your back just gets you stuck. Acquiring what you want in life is simply based on the devotion of fighting to obtain it. Whether it’s an upcoming battle against the state qualifier or the arduous task of what to do next, always remember work. Work built the Statue of Liberty, work found America, and work is the way you get to where you want to be in life. If there is one great thing that I learned from wrestling, it’s that the work you put in is the deciding factor of tomorrow.
