Julie & Julia

3 out of 5 stars

In this romantic comedy, based on the bestselling novel, Julie & Julia, two women in two different eras, turn cooking as a hobby into much more. Julia Child (Meryl Streep) and her husband, Paul (Stanley Tucci) have just moved to France from America in the 1950’s. With no kids and her husband at work, she tries to find something to keep her busy. Having two failed attempts at bridge and hat making classes she decides to follow her passion- eating! She enrolls in an all men’s cooking class which is hysterical to watch, because Meryl Streep’s imitation of Julia Child looks and sounds so much like a man impersonating a woman. Meanwhile, about fifty years later, Julie Powell (Amy Adams) moves with her husband, Eric (Chris Messina), into an apartment above a pizzeria in Queens, New York. Bored with her office job in a cubicle and jealous of her “friend’s” success she decides to challenge herself to write a blog about attempting to cook all Julia Child’s recipes in 365 days. Through the perils of lobsters jumping out of boiling pots of water, to making Julie Child’s famous Beef Bourguignon, Julie faces it all. Although Amy Adams’ character sometimes came off as a little whiny and annoying, Meryl Streep was totally hilarious. Directed by Nora Ephron and produced by Eric Steel, this movie was very light-hearted and cute. However, I would suggest not watching this movie while you’re hungry.

great!

I love the content you have for this article, your vocab and sentence structure it’s great. You told enough to get people interested without reuining the ending. You should credit the director and producer and maybe mention some more of the cast. Please attach a pic, go to google images and get the poster but I need a pic. I’m sure that your writing will light u[ the central times in no time at all.
